Friday night, was an evening of literature and art.
The Tintinara, Culburra and Districts History Book, Shut Six Gates,
was launched in conjunction with an Art Exhibition staged by the Heart
of the Parks Craft and Information Centre. A restored stage- drop originally
painted in 1936 by renowned artist and past Tintinara resident Otho
Hewett was unveiled, along with a framed embroidered tablecloth belonging
to the first teacher at Tintinara School, Maude Jackson.
On Saturday, the Tintinara Golf Club hosted a Celebrations
Golf Tournament incorporating an 18-hole Ambrose competition. Shot-gun
start was at 10 am.
On Saturday, Border Downs Tintinara Football and
Netball clubs hosted a home minor round match against Karoonda at the
Tintinara Oval. Three football matches and six netball matches were
held. Entertainment accompanied tea with a live band performing from
8:30pm.
On Saturday night, the Tintinara Centenary Celebrations
Committee hosted the 100th Birthday Celebrations. The night was a perfect
opportunity to catch up with past residents and old friends in a relaxed
party atmosphere. Many photographs were on display and historical movie
footage was shown.
On Sunday, the Tintinara Area School hosted a reunion.
All past, present and future students were invited to come to reminisce
about old times and see what was currently happening at the school.
A roll call, group photos and an open day allowed past and present
students and staff to see the development of the school over the past
69 years.
On Sunday afternoon, The Centenary Church Service
was hosted by the Tintinara Uniting Church at the school grounds.
