THE Uniting Church also celebrated a 100 year presence in Tintinara
over the weekend and the centenary church service held in a marquee on
the school oval was a poignant finish to a successful weekend.
Karen Filmer welcomed the congregation and thanked God for the gift
of community and community spirit.
In 1906 when Tintinara was proclaimed a town, the church services were
held in private homes.
Later services were held in the hall, and in 1966 the new church was
built, with 400 people attending the first service.
Dan Aubrey is the current minister of the Uniting Church at Tintinara,
and now the use of modem technology and music enhances the worship experience. |
