MORE than 300 people crowded through the doors of the Tintinara Hall on Saturday night, to be part of the town's 100th birthday celebrations.

Guests enjoyed a sit down dinner catered for by the Tintinara Action Club and had plenty of time to catch up with friends and acquaintances.

Once again, the diversity of Tintinara was evident, with a display of photographs showing the Tintinara story from early days to the present.

The highlight of the night was the cutting of the 100th birthday cake by the oldest current residents to be born and bred in Tintinara.

Phyllis Prosser and Graham Bell proudly cut the cake as everyone sang "Happy Birthday".

Mr Bell spoke of the honour associated with being involved with the event and complimented the organisers on a fantastic job.

"I am lucky to be here at this occasion. I didn't know I, would be here this long - arriving in 1922."

The birthday cake, made by Faye Gelven, was enjoyed by guests as they continued to chat, smile and laugh as they recalled the good times.
